Ulcerate

An ulcer is a sore or wound. When a wound doesn’t heal, it is said to have ulcerated. An ulcerated wound has trouble healing and is prone to infections or causing blood loss. Ulcerated wounds must be carefully tended to keep from becoming infected, which can lead to sepsis.
