About Rebecca Miceli

Rebecca Miceli is a doctoral candidate of chemistry and biological chemistry at Rensselaer Polytechnic Insitute, located in Troy, New York.

Rebecca studies the anti-cancer efficacy of molecularly engineered biosurfactants, sophorolipid and surfactin, on triple-negative breast cancer. The goal of her research is not only to discover a novel therapeutic options to treat cancer, but to make them in low-cost, and environmentally friendly ways.

Rebecca majored in biochemistry and public health at Wheaton College (MA) and hopes to one day become a professor of medicinal chemistry at a research focused institute.

Outside of the laboratory, Rebecca enjoys reading, writing, trail running, and mountain biking.

Rebecca is excited to apply her research expertise to the DogCancer.com, hoping to provide pets, and their owners, with some understanding of dog cancer treatment options.

Rebecca is welcoming a new puppy into her life in January 2023!

My Dog

Tupper was my first dog. I did my research, found a vet, and paid for him all on my own.

Growing up, my family always had a dog - but Tupper was my first dog. He learned his name on the first day, and he never had an accident inside. Tupper was going to be my little trail dog.

Unfortunately, Tupper passed away at 10-weeks of age due to a congenital heart defect.

As I welcome a new puppy into my life soon, I will always have Tupper in my heart. My little trail pup.
